The Silverstone (red) tea kettle is a good value. The red adds a nice splash of color to a modern kitchen, and the two quart quantity is more than enough for normal use. It heats quickly with a medium flame; the whistle is noticeable without being annoying, and the release lever to pour out the hot water works smoothly. Only area that needs improvement is pouring out the hot water--it does notcome out smoothly in one stream but in fits and starts, and it is very difficult to empty completely.
