Customer Review: Perfect length & comfortable handle + balance, but....

Recently bought this, along with 2 other different nylon spoons, to replace my favorite 12" Henckels nylon spoon that snapped @ the handle joint after a couple years of near-daily use. Most cooking spoons are far too long, or too flimsy to be comfortable to use for "intense" stirring (like 20 mins of non-stop risotto cooking) or when working with heavier foods. But this, and the 2 other spoons I purchased, are just the right length.
This is a very good tool, but I have 2 small quibbles. First, the bowl is extremely deep. That makes it very useful for basting (as its name implies :)) and for dishing up foods into a serving bowl or onto a plate. But the depth of the bowl makes it useless for some other tasks, like skimming fat. The other concern is its construction; I think it'll be fine for moderate use, but because of the narrow joint where the handle meets the grip, I don't think it'll take much wear before it snaps.
It definitely has a place in my kitchen, and am glad I own it for certain tasks. But my new favorite overall cooking spoon is the Copco Smart Gadget Nylon Cooking Spoon.
