I bought one of these openers and can honestly say it is the worst can opener i have ever owned. I might use a can opener once a week or twice a week. I have had this one for a little over a year. It recently began to fall apart. One of the handles started to fall off, the opening mechanism or gears no longer work properly and also the lettering is starting to rub off. I am not rough on my kitchenware either. I am going back to a dependable Swing-A-Way. The only reason i bought this one was to match the rest of the farberware products i had bought for my new home. I wish i had held on to my old Swing-A-Way which worked great and was always dependable. Do not buy this one because it is poorly made!
